It is only in our darkest hours that we may discover the true strength of the brilliant light within ourselves that can never ever be dimmed

Trauma is defined as a deeply distressing or disturbing experience. These events can be life changing and cause many to feel alone, hyper alter, guilty, confused, panicked, and unsafe. Have hope though, these symptoms do not have to last. I want to meet with you and help you move through whatever experience is holding you back from living your best life.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, also known as EMDR, is a form of trauma resolution therapy. Your therapist is trained in EMDR and currently working towards an advanced certification. EMDR therapy is an eight-stage protocol. It involves focusing on a targeted memory while using bilateral stimulation, either by following the clinician’s hand as it goes back and forth across the client’s field of vision or holding onto alternating pulsars. Researchers believe this method is similar to the biological mechanisms of Rapid Eye Movement when sleeping. The goal is to help transform the associations with this memory. For example, a client’s memory may shift from feeling fear and guilt to resilience and empowered. Research shows that EMDR is a proven and effective form of treatment. Organizations such as, the American Psychiatric Association, the World Health Organization, and the Department of Defense recognize EMDR as an effective form of trauma treatment.
